Eleni Paridi’s work is an experimental, visual exploration of crystalline minerals. As crystals embody Earth’s early history, observing their forms, shapes, textures, and interiors becomes a ritualistic process for the artist, who seeks the unseen with the qualities of transparency and the dynamics of colourful light.
Eleni studied psychology and business administration. She has worked as a graphic designer, art director, radio producer, journalist, and music critic. Her interest in human nature led her to explore various approaches to psychotherapy—including psychodrama, family constellations, and art therapy—as well as different methods of holistic energy treatments such as Reiki, crystal healing, and more. Since 2017, the world of crystals—with its engraved memory and interactive nature—has become the subject of her photographic interest. What cannot be seen does not mean that it does not exist; in pursuit of the unfathomable, she chooses clear quartz and other colourless, transparent stones as the main subjects of her photography. Her work has been showcased in both solo and collective exhibitions in Syros, Athens, Thessaloniki, Mykonos, New York City, Rome and Venice. Eleni lives and works between Athens and the island of Syros, Greece.
